  East Lothian is made up of 12 Towns, Aberlady, Dirleton, East Linton, Haddington, Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Cockenzie, Portseton, Dunbar, Gullane, Longniddry, North Berwick, Tranent, and 10 villages, Athelstaneford, Drem, Garvald, Gifford, Innerwick, Ormiston, Pencaitland, Stenton, Tyninghame, Whitekirk.

East Lothian Scoland lies East Of Edinburgh on the Southern coast of the Firth of Forth and includes part of the Lammermuir hills.
In the middle ages the feudal castles of Dirleton, Tantallon and Hailes were built and the last battles fought in the county were Dunbar (1650) and Prestonpans (1745).
The rolling fertile landscape encouraged the development of agriculture in the 18th century and remains one of the main industries of the area.
Coal Mining became established in the west of the county notably at Prestonpans while along the coast Fishing became an important industry. East Linton and Haddington are famous for there excellent fishing spots along the river Tyne, while Cockenzie and Portseton, Dunbar and North Berwick are all excellent for deep sea fishing.

For the Tourist East Lothian has much to offer, Golf, Leisure and Holiday facilities; not to mention the stunning scenery and picturesque towns and villages.
Gullane is famous for its golf courses, and home to the word famous Muirfield golf club. East Lothian is loved for its world class golf courses and golfing towns of North Berwick, Gullane, Longniddry, Aberlady and Haddington and day trips to St Andrews can easily be arranged.
Edinburgh is an easy day trip, and excellent public transport is available making East Lothian a popular holiday destination all year round.
