Dirleton
lies approx. 2 miles West of North Berwick on the
South shore of the Firth of Forth. What
to see and do in Dirleton. Dirleton Castle, built in the 13th.Century and extended in the 14 th. And 16 th.Centuries, is of course the centerpiece of the village. With it's well tended gardens and ruins this is the ideal place to visit, from an Historic point of view or merely to enjoy the surrounds. With the Golf Courses of Gullane and North Berwick within a few miles the golfer is spoiled for choice, or for those who prefer a more relaxing afternoon a game of bowls on the Bowling Green in the Castle grounds could be arranged Dirleton also hosts Dirleton Games which is extremely popular and draws Children and Adults from the village and surrounding areas. |
